Summary: What YOU should do

  • Contact the university to enquire about special admission requirements. Sometimes application interviews or admission tests are necessary. Requirements are set by each university individually.
  • Find out what the language knowledge demands are. These vary among different universities.
  • Check out whether any previous, major areas of study for the chosen course of study are required (For example: for a medical degree, the previous major areas of study are physics and chemistry at an A-level standard). These special requirements are mainly found at universities.

It is advisable to contact the appropriate university prior to central application in order to investigate requirements for knowledge of Dutch, transcripts showing required areas of study and possible admissions tests for certain degree programmes; i.e., arts.

Every successful applicant receives a registration form from the secretary of the chosen university.

Further important tips:

  • Enquire about the language demands. These do vary considerably between the individual universities.
  • Check if your transcripts fulfill the requirements for major areas of study. This is mainly for universities, rather than colleges.
