Instruction

Dutch universities differ from other European Institutions of Higher Education in one major point.
While other European countries impart their learning content through lectures, exercises and seminars, the education in Holland focuses on problem-based learning (problem-gestuurd onderwijs) instead. Central to this educational concept is that individual students learn independently by way of a problem-solving approach.
For many students this is the ideal method to get a successful degree. Furthermore, the relationship between student and lecturer is more open than in other countries.

During her interview with TV-EDU, Delia de Vreeze (Wageningen University) explains the contents of problem-based learning - modern learning methods in the Netherlands.
