For those studying an English course, the hogeschool offers previously a Dutch summer language course in Emmen free of charge.

This education will prepare you to be a logistic manager who efficiently deals with the commodities, money and information stream. During this study a lot of attention will be paid to gain knowledge on the area of production, administration, transport and distribution of goods. Organization, communication and management skills will be discussed, and you will get to know the logistic chain by heart.

The programme International Logistics Management is offered at Stenden hogeschool, location in Emmen.

Duration and Intakes
This study will take four years full-time and starts in September and in February.

Curriculum
The education Logistics & Economics is divided into two phases. These are the foundation year and the main phase.

The first year
In the first year the gaining of the propaedeutical skills is the main goal. Subjects such as logistics, commercial and business economics, business administration, general and transport economics, production techniques, law and foreign languages will be offered during the first year. They form the basis of gaining the propaedeutic certificate. You will get to know everything to form a basis for the main phase.

The second, third and fourth year
During this main phase you will go deeper in the study materials of the first year. In the shape of theme education you will work with small groups making practical assignments of different subjects.

Cases are an important and fundamental part of the study materials. For example you will get an assignment to find out how the logistic process of a building material as the end product. It is fundamental for the assignments to have the required skills for market research, commercial economics, logistics and mastery of languages. This is how theory and practice comes together.

The business life requires international-oriented logistic managers, to supply this demand, the third study year is focused on international orientation. You can choose to do your internship abroad for half a year or study abroad, Stenden has many contacts with universities abroad. This will make it easier for you to find an internship placement abroad. Besides that, Stenden offers, to students from abroad, the chance to study half year in the Netherlands. This means that you will be part of an international class where the main language is English. This will prepare you for the future and you will have valuable qualities for business life.
