Educational requirements:
a) Bsc or BA with a general background in the social sciences and specific knowledge of communication science. Basic knowledge of a domain within the life sciences is an asset;
b) a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 70%;
c) good skills in mathematics and/or statistics;
d) fluency in English, both written and spoken;
e) basic computer skills.
Objectives:
The new Communication Science programme aims to deliver academically equipped communication professionals for public and private organisations who can integrate perspectives of scientists and/or groups in society. They are able to analyse, design and facilitate communication in processes of change, with a particular focus on major societal themes like food, health, air, water policies, natural resource management and land-use.
Subjects:
Individually tailored programme. Majors can be done within fields such as: communication management; communication consultancy and process facilitation; science and communication; and communication research.
Modes of instruction:
Lectures, practical work, casework, group work, computer models, excursions, self study, thesis research.
