Educational requirements:
BSc in a relevant field.BSc in urban studies, the environmental or social sciences or related fields; GPA of 70%; good skills in mathematics/statistics.

Other requirements:
Basic computer skills; fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Objectives:
Academic training in the field of Urban Environmental Management.

Subjects:
Thesis trajectories offered include a) Urban environmental management systems, focusing on environmental quality assurance systems for city organisations, e.g., the European Eco-management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) and ISO 14001 b) Sustainable building and urban energy, centring on the sustainable planning and management of the urban building stock on both the city and the building level, and zero-impact construction and building management in particular c) Urban infrastructure management, focusing on infrastructure services provision (water supply, solid waste, transport, etc.) and utility management issues such as privatisation, outsourcing and environmental quality management.

Modes of instruction:
Lectures, practical work, casework, group work, computer models, excursions, self study, thesis research.
