Educational requirements:
a) BSc in information and communication technology, land use planning, land and water management, forestry, geography, soil science or other related environmental or social sciences
b) A Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 70%
c) good skills in mathematics and/or statistics
d) fluency in English, both written and spoken
e) basic computer skills.
Objectives:
Academic training in Geo-information Science with a focus on handling geo-information for analysis and solving of spatial problems in the broad field of environmental studies.
Subjects:
Individually tailored programme. Majors can be done within GIS and remote sensing applied to various fields. Course work may include geo-information science, remote sensing, spatial data infrastructure, geo-information tools, spatial modelling and visualisation, RS and GIS integration, data management, spatial statistics, research methodology and modelling.
Modes of instruction:
Lectures, practical work, casework, group work, computer models, excursions, self study, thesis research.
