BSc in the technical sciences, management or business studies, GPA of 70%; good skills in mathematics/statistics.

Basic computer skills; fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Objectives:
The renewed MAKS-programme envisages training a new kind of academically equipped professional that is able to deal with knowledge processes in the context of (rural) development and change linking the human and the technical dimensions of innovation and change processes. MAKS provides an interdisciplinary training in communication and innovation studies (agricultural extension), agrarian technology (technography) and rural development (sociology) to students with a technical background to become skilful managers, researchers, lecturers, trainers and policy-makers.
Subjects:
Individually tailored programme. Majors can be done within fields such as: communication and innovation studies (communication, facilitation and design focus); technology and agrarian development (institutional focus); and rural development sociology (focus on livelihood strategies and local knowledge issues), if wanted in co-operation with any (technical) discipline (irrigation, forestry, soil science, pest management etc.).

Lectures, practical work, casework, group work, computer models, excursions, self study, thesis research.
