Objectives:
To enable managers and trainers of rural development organisations to: translate development policies and approaches into relevant development programmes and projects; manage development organisations, particularly with regard to HRD; develop and implement extension and training programmes; design information, education and communication interventions.

Subjects:
Training in study skills and information management; research methods; management: styles and techniques; management for development, leadership and conflict; project management; Human Resources Development; gender issues; management of extension organisations; development and management of training programmes; management of media; training in personal management and communication; thesis.

Modes of instruction:
Lectures, practicals, case study, practical assignments, field research, simulations.
