BSc degree in agricultural science, animal production, veterinary science or related studies.
Professional experience required
2-4 years relevant working experience.
Objectives:
Professionals engaged in animal production as middle cadre policy-makers, coordinators of extension services, lecturers/trainers and manager, able to translate national policies into regional programmes and projects, coordinate and implement such programmes and projects. They will be able to identify problems, develop and evaluate solutions and improvements and act as agents of change.
Subjects:
Technical animal production subjects, such as nutrition, breeding and health, related to implementation and management aspects, at regional and departmental level; supporting subject and approaches, such as RRA/research methodology and farming system analysis, are, among others, part of the programme.
Modes of instruction:
Lectures, case study, individual assignments, group assignments, practicals, fieldtrips.
