Competitive developments and ongoing improvement of infor¬mation technology allow (and force) companies to promote and seil their products and Services globally. The process of internationalization takes management time and effort, especially for small companies.

This minor aims at supporting the management of companies in their development of global marketing programmes. Not just by research and analysis, but certainly also by handy on implementation on the scene.

Perspective
After 2 to 4 years working experience: middle management in marketing or finance in in-ternationally active companies

Minor lay out
a. knowledge line: lectures and training sessions in global marketing. market entry stra-tegies, export modes, global outsourcing (subcontracting), offshoring and global sourcing.

b. project line: consultancy and implementation services for international^ expanding companies and start-ups. Stu¬dents will acquire company projects and prepare the im¬plementation of a global (marketing) programmefor this company.

• presentation of the results in a seminar

There will be a strong link with the ASIS-doctorate 'Intercultural Management' and the knowledge center 'International Trade'.

Facts
International Business Ventures will run in the first and the second semester of the acade-micyear 2008-2009. The minor is open for all AVANS students with two years of study in business economics or finance, with majors in AMBM, ASIS, IBLand AAFM. Students that want to take it must have a good command of English. The minor is open for students that have obtai-ned at least 105 ECs in the first two years of study. The first weeks of the minor are in Beda. The second part is abroad.
