University education always costs money - whether at home or abroad. Alongside tuition fees, initially a complete basic requirement of books and aterial is needed (i.e. a computer and office equipment) and perhaps an partment with the ecessary furniture.

Then, of course, there are the costs for insurance, clothes, food, trips back home, leisure time etc. The German students’ association has researched into the cost of living for students and found these to be approx. from 7.000 - 9.000 Euro per year (it makes 550-780 Euro per month).
